The boundary

Independent, noncommercial and explicit

Bayframe 33 is not operated by the National Park Service, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Alcatraz City Cruises, City Experiences, the Port of San Francisco or a ticket reseller. It cannot sell, alter, refund or support a booking. Third-party names identify the subject or official source; they do not signal sponsorship.

The site has no display ads, affiliate links, sponsored rankings, anonymous reviews or lead forms. It does not claim a private tour company, office, guide team or visitor center. No real contact details were supplied for this project, so none are invented.

Why “field guide”

A field guide directs attention. At Pier 33, attention belongs on the correct ticket, time and boarding instruction. In the Cellhouse, it belongs on architecture and routine rather than only celebrity names. At an occupation message, it belongs on Indigenous political history. Near a nest, it belongs on distance and closure signs.

This structure makes room for the visitor’s own observation without presenting taste as fact. We do not rank tours or declare a universal best departure. Different schedules, energy levels, mobility needs and interests produce different useful plans.

What we cannot promise

We do not maintain live schedules, prices, availability, weather, transit, construction, closures or emergency notices. We do not guarantee accessibility or the suitability of a route for an individual. Historical interpretation can also develop as scholarship, consultation and preservation continue.

Readers should use the Official links page for operational decisions and the Sources page to trace historical and photographic material. Our Editorial method explains how those boundaries are applied.

One-line promise

We explain the decision, label the uncertainty and point to the authority.

That is more useful than pretending a static guide is a live ticket desk.
